Americans Die
(Sung to the tune of "American Pie" by Don McLean)
Guest song parody by Randy Kendrick

(instrumental intro)

A long, long time ago
I can still remember how
The Bill of Rights would make me smile.
And I thought I knew there's no chance
That on them, anyone would dance,
And throw away our freedoms, Soviet style.
Then an election that November,
Quenched our dying freedom's ember.
Bad news from the SCOTUS,
George W. was POTUS.
I can't remember if I cried
When the highest court took Dubya's side.
But something touched me deep inside
The day the freedom died.

Bye, bye, freedom's gone, my oh my!
Now our only friend abroad is Tony Blair, why oh why.
And them good old boys, Bush & Blair told a lie,
Saying Hussein wants to make us all die.
WMDs were just a big lie.

Did Bush sell us all some tricks,
when he didn't listen to Hans Blix,
If the UN told him so.
And do you believe that old Saddam
Had a bio or a nuclear bomb
To make the USA die real slow.
Well I know that Dubya hates him bad
Because Saddam tried to kill his dad.
But is there any reason?
War over this is treason!
Dubya was drinkin', drivin' doing fine,
Enjoying the fruit of the vine
But Jesus gave him one big sign,
And said, "Be President".

Now were singin'
Why, why must Americans die?
Now our only friend abroad is Tony Blair, why oh why.
And them good old boys, Bush & Blair told a lie,
Saying Hussein wants to make us all die.
WMDs were just a big lie.

Now for three years, Bush & Cheney rule,
But they must think we are all just fools,
To believe the tales they told.
Dubya is a jester not a king,
But he thinks he can do anything,
By issuing an Executive Order.
While Georgie boy was looking for
A faith-based group to fund some more,
They finally got Saddam,
But they never found his bombs.
And while Soldiers got killed in Iraq
Georgie boy was kickin' back,
Reading "Mad" from front to back,
the day the soldiers died.

Now were singin'
Why, why must Americans die?
Mr. Bush and Mr. Rumsfeld, they will not even try.
And them good old boys, and Colin Powell told a lie,
Saying Hussein wants to make us all die.
WMDs were just a big lie.

Helter, Skelter, in a desert swelter
The troops were bombed inside their shelter,
Casualties were rising fast.
Then old Dubya made a secret trip,
A photo op, he's such a dip,
And a soldier in a wheelchair and a cast
Watched this goofy turkey smile and wave
While Americans go to the grave
All at Dubya's command,
For the wrong thing, takin' a stand.
And while soldiers take the battlefield,
Iraqis, they refused to yield,
Do you recall what was the deal,
The day the freedom died.

Now were singin'
Why, why must Americans die?
Mr. Bush and Mr. Rumsfeld, they will not even try.
And them good old boys, and Colin Powell told a lie,
Saying Hussein wants to make us all die.
WMDs were just a big lie.

Our soldiers all are over the place,
A generation that must face
The prospect of a global war.
And Bush ain't nimble, Bush ain't quick,
His global views just make me sick,
Because firepower is his only friend,
Oh and I watched him on the stage,
My hands are clenched in fits of rage.
Dubya has cast his spell,
The country's going to hell.
And more planes will fly into the sky
Al Qaeda still intent to fly
More of them to make innocents die
The day the freedom died.

Now were singin'
Why, why must Americans die?
Mr. Bush and Mr. Rumsfeld, they will not even try.
And them good old boys, and Colin Powell told a lie,
Saying Hussein wants to make us all die.
WMDs were just a big lie.

I met a girl who sang so low
That her dad was at Guantanamo
She didn't know how long he'd stay.
I went down to the old book store,
To buy some books to read some more,
but the man there said the government was watching.
And in the streets, the people dreamed,
Of freedom that once freely streamed.
But not a word was spoken,
The people all were broken.
And the men that I admire most,
Like Jefferson and the founding host,
Their freedom dream had turned to toast,
The day the freedom died.

We were singin'
Why, why must Americans die?
Mr. Bush and Mr. Rumsfeld, they will not even try.
And them good old boys, and Colin Powell told a lie,
Saying Hussein wants to make us all die.
