Bedside Vow
(Sung to the tune of "Both Sides Now" by Judy Collins)
By Alvin Dover & W. Tong

(As sung by that lazy little king called Shrub:)

(instrumental intro)

Eight-plus hours of sleep each night
Will keep me happy, feeling right.
And breakfast time at nine's all right.
I love to sleep away.
These past few weeks have gotten long.
My Attack Iraq plan's gone wrong.
Took No-Doz 'cause my coffee's gone.
I hate long lasting days.

I'll sleep some more - my bedside vow.
Dream of Saddam - remove him now.
Elections need a ruse this fall.
I really haven't slept... at all.

(brief instrumental break)

Howls at Powell from hawks who scream:
"If you loathe war, get off our team!"
Want Iraq's oil, that's what they dream.
They want to get their way.
It's easy - Dad will make it so.
Big Dick's in charge; to bed, I'll go.
Don't really care, or want to know;
Long as things go my way.

I'll sleep some more - my bedside vow.
Dream of Saddam - remove him now.
Elections need a ruse this fall.
I really haven't slept... at all.

Hear those jeers among the crowd?
They said "We loathe you!" right out loud!
Tell Ashcroft - protests aren't allowed!
Dissent must go away!
I love how this job's been arranged.
Say what?  Me worry?  Nothing's changed.
I'll sleep; bad thoughts escape my brain,
From napping every day.

I'll sleep some more - my bedside vow.
Dream of Saddam - remove him now.
Elections need a ruse this fall.
I really haven't slept... at all.
