Grandmas Got Run Over By The Fascists
Satire about the heavy handed Portland, Oregon police tactics against peaceful anti-Bush protesters
Inspired by the title of an edition of Bartcop.com
(Sung to the tune of "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" by Elmo & Patsy)

(instrumental intro)
Grandmas got run over by the fascists,
Telling Bush in public he should leave.
"Goose-step - don't ask questions!" Bush's mantra.
Folks got shot for saying what they believe.

Bush was thinkin' after his jog...
In Portland, he'd put on a show.
Made a shambles of our nation.
When he trampled on the poor who dared say no.

Did the cops fire without warning?
See pictures of those attacks.
Rubber bullets won't leave you dead;
Does pepper spray make up what George Bush lacks?

Grandmas got run over by the fascists,
Telling Bush in public he should leave.
"Goose-step - don't ask questions!" Bush's mantra.
Folks got shot for saying what they believe.

If you protest loud, they'll shoot you
If you're giving George Bush hell.
If you boo him and make catcalls;
If you jeer at him, you'll wind up in a cell.

Young grandchildren and their grandmas,
Dads and moms forced to take flak.
Bush's jackboots they're now under.
Their liberties now stripped, Bush's payback.

Grandmas got run over by the fascists,
Telling Bush in public he should leave.
"Goose-step - don't ask questions!" Bush's mantra.
Folks got shot for saying what they believe.

Power abuse, because he's able;
Put "combatants" in the brig.
You won't see these things on cable.
The press lapdogs are now told where to dig.

Bush now wants your friends and neighbors
To be spies and snitch for TIPS.
Bush and Ashcroft now have license
To jail protestors who have loose lips.

Grandmas got run over by the fascists,
Telling Bush in public he should leave.
"Goose-step - don't ask questions!" Bush's mantra.
Folks got shot for saying what they believe.

Grandmas got run over by the fascists,
Telling Bush in public he should leave.
"Goose-step - don't ask questions!" Bush's mantra.
Folks got shot for saying what they believe.

(repeat refrain and fade)
