You Can't Hide From Pryin' Eyes
Satirical vision of near-future AmeriKKKa under Bush's fascist, paranoid TIPS surveillance
From a suggestion by "Arwalden," who wrote the chorus
(Sung to the tune of "Lyin' Eyes" by The Eagles)

(instrumental intro)

In this world, neighbors can be surly,
If they're right wing boors who never smile.
Resentful men - of status loss, they worry.
They go to their work place as rank-and-file.

The Far Right can make their days less lonely.
Right wing radio has "answers" that sound nice.
Though he isn't smart, they think that Shrub is only
A true blue commander who gets good advice.

Limbaugh tells them that, "More seeing is believing.
Hey, too much trust in friends will bring you down.
The way things now are going is deceiving.
Volunteer for TIPS, and help those traitors drown!"

You can't hide... from pryin' eyes.
And your friends... are in disguise.
With Ashcroft in, don't be surprised
There's no place safe to hide from pryin' eyes.

(instrumental break)
Ashcroft's gonna hunt you down, for he is waiting.
His fiery lies and screams can't hide his zeal.
The far Religious Right is palpitating:
A theocracy's their way to make dreams real.

Dissent rings their alarms; things won't get better.
Their TIPS plan is so fascist, and so vile.
It's coming soon, and it may just last forever.
It's Bush's way: believe him and he'll smile.

You can't hide... from pryin' eyes.
And your friends... are in disguise.
With Ashcroft in, don't be surprised.
There's no place safe to hide from pryin' eyes.

(instrumental break)

The Bush pup leans on Cheney; Dick's the "strong" one.
Bush blares out he's the Czar, and don't ask why.
Keep up the fight - it's gonna be a long one.
We will not aid this figurehead who lies.

The Wonder Chimp's forever being lazy.
The world is his toy; money's his tool.
He should be fired, because he's power-crazy.
Make sure he's gone in '04 - oust this fool!

We know why the Supreme Court wants to arrange things.
They saved Bush "by the bell," so shamefully.
It ain't funny, how Bush snoops all look for "strange things."
The McCarthy Era's back, this century!

You can't hide... from pryin' eyes.
And your friends... are in disguise.
With Ashcroft in, don't be surprised.
There's no place safe to hide from pryin' eyes.
There's no place safe to hide from pryin' eyes.
Sonny, you can't hide from pryin' eyes.
