Those Missing Woods
(Sung to the tune of "Norwegian Wood" by The Beatles)

(To be sung by the next generation, who will inherit the post-Dubya world:)

(instrumental intro)

I just told my girls, or should I say, they questioned me.
They showed me a book; asked me: where stood, those missing woods?

They wanted to play, and they asked me are trees anywhere?
So I sat them down, and I said the woods are no longer there.

They sat and they thought, biding their time, then asked me why?
How to explain and, so then I said, "It's time for bed."

Turned to the chapter on Gale Norton and did the math.
She opened OUR land for Bush and took us down that path.

And when we last looked, trees were all gone, photos alone.
Think back and admire, where there once stood, those missing woods.

(instrumental fade)
