Lay's Fault
Satire about bankruptcy - financially for Enron, and morally for Bush pal Ken Lay
(Sung to the tune of "Layla" by Eric Clapton, as "Derek & The Dominos")

(instrumental intro)

Workers he screwed, 'cause Ken Lay only
Enriched himself; took 'em for a ride.
His corruption's been hidden for too long.
Republicans will take Lay's side.

Lay's fault... Enron brought to its knees.
Lay's fault... embezzlement and sleaze.
Lay's fault... Enron won't ease Shrub's worried mind...

Helped by Shrub's administration,
'Cause his old man won't let them drown.
Ken Lay fooled his employees; gave no clue.
He turned their whole world upside down.

Lay's fault... Enron brought to its knees.
Lay's fault... embezzlement and sleaze.
Lay's fault... Enron won't ease Shrub's worried mind...

Shrub's in a desperate situation.
His war time powers can't hide this stain.
Though he'll pray, it never goes away.
This scandal causes Shrub much pain.

Lay's fault... Enron brought to its knees.
Lay's fault... embezzlement and sleaze.
Lay's fault... Enron won't ease Shrub's worried mind...

(long instrumental and ending)
